Collection: Artist Mentorship

After 25 years working as a professional artist with full gallery exhibition experience, I have decided to offer artist mentorship to those who would like some additional help or guidance with their art career. I believe that everyone has an artist in them at whatever level and sometimes there are too many boundaries with regards to getting help.

What to expect:

After booking via the below link and prior to our first meeting I will request images of your current work, and your ideas of what you are hoping to achieve with your art practice.

I can then offer help with the following

  • Finding your personal vision and your creative voice. Whilst I am predominantly a figurative painter, I see the merit in both figurative and abstract work so please do not let this deter you from contacting me. I do not want to create lots of Georgina Potter copies and so I will assess your style, strengths and weaknesses and help to guide you towards the goals that you wish to achieve through your own creative vision.
  • Offering you advice in terms literature, courses and workshops that I recommend you attend. In many cases we might find that I will be recommending you to attend another artists workshop that is better suited to your style then my own methods.
  • Working out, with any life restrictions you currently have in place, how you can best utilise your time to ultimately create consistent pieces of work.
  • Decisions on the direction in which you wish to apply yourself within the art sector.
  • Creating a gameplay to success - advise you on how to best raise your profile as an artist, applying to relevant collaborations, entering open exhibitions, improving your choice of medium, curating guidance, framing advice and how to approach any situation that arises.
  • Pricing strategies - deciding on pricing of your artwork based on your individual market
  • Creating your own boundaries as a professional artist and protecting yourself from being taken advantage of.
  • Undertaking commissions in a professional manner
  • Representing yourself online (and offline), giving you the ability to best project yourself in a competitive market.
  • If you would like to take your art career one step further offering your ownworkshops or expanding your own practice in a way that involves teaching I can help you to implement this in a professional and convincing manner.

Sessions will occur via Zoom or a telephone call on a 1:2:1 basis. It is important to decide on what help you will need according to the time you have decided to book - we will not be able to cover all of the above detail in a one hour session!

Please also note that artist mentorship is not aimed at teaching you how to paint. For help with this, please look out for my other workshops or 1:2:1 tuition.
